EVENT: BLKOUTSIDE – SUMMER PICNIC 31 JULY

The sun continues to shine on (an almost post-Boris) London. As we get used to living with COVID-19, and overly acquainted with Monkeypox1, we’ve started to meet more regularly. Some of us throwing masks and caution to the wind to attend mass public events such as this weekend’s Sparkle in Manchester, and Trans Pride London. July 2nd was reportedly, the biggest Pride in London yet. 50 and still pulling them in. On Friday, the true anniversary of the firs event, the Gay Liberation Front organised a march of their own, led by veterans of the 1972 event.

After this coming weekend’s Croydon Pridefest, (make sure to get your free tickets for the 16 July event in advance) and after party with our new friends at Stanley Arts, we will definitely be back in the swing of things

BLKOutside

One of the joys of working on BLKOUT has been the establishment of new traditions. So when Nzube Ufodike asked BLKOUT to take on co-hosting of the event that he had nurtured over several years, we were honoured to do so. Back again this year, we’re looking forward to catching up with friends, old and new, in Regent’s Park from 1 to 6.30pm. Bring enough food and drink for yourself and some more to share.

New this year: two new organisational partners. In addition to Slay Storiez, we welcome The Black Experience and the Black Boy Joy Collective. We will be making introductions to all three and to their work later this week.
