Last night’s UK premier screening of ‘ParTyboi: Black diamonds in ice castles‘ by Micheal Rice has inspired us and others who saw it to respond.

The post-screening discussion highlighted how much we don’t know about the impact of chemsex on our peers, friends and brothers. BlackOutUK seeks to create safe and secure spaces for black queer men to speak their honest truths – we need to talk about issues of addiction, drug use, and consent as well as our needs for connection, release and wellbeing.

We were really pleased to partner with 56 Dean Street to host the screening, with support from Team Prepster. We’re keen to continue building networks and coalitions with others in order to address the needs of those in our communities.

In that collaborative spirit, let’s gather what we already know, build a coalition of ‘experts’ (black queer men, healthcare practitioners, key organisations and policy decision-makers), and share our ideas about what success in addressing the needs of black queer men around sex and drug use might look like for the UK.

If you are interested in getting involved, please complete this short survey before the end of April 2018.

We look forward to hearing from you and working together to create effective responses.
